This is so called the butterfly effect.

Finally, our earth will be destroyed.
    So,
    Green the Earth.

Group overall work:

Molly- Write the script
Sally- Voice of the PSA video
Amy- Find the information about littering
Jill- Make the layouts and video

Improvement:

I think our video can be more fluent because I found some parts of the video show lately as I watch it again.

How I made these ads:

I made the two ads with Photoshop and some applications in Google Chrome. First, we took the pictures by ourselves on the street, and I edited the layouts on the Photoshop. Then, I used the applications of editing photos to make the ads. The words and the visual effects were made on the applications. However, the trash in the second PSA study was cut from many pictures. I copy and put them in the same picture. In this way, there are more trash in the picture that can warn people not to litter. Besides, the video was made by Powerdirector. The frame at the beginning was shot by our group, and I painted the pictures of a penguin on the paint board first Then it showed on the Photoshop, ad I put the pictures in the Powerdirector. Finally, other pictures at the end like pollution, land loss, and disease were found on the Internet.

Reflection:

I am really happy with this work in the class. I can keep improving and using my skills to help do the PSA ads and film, and I can also know what I still need to learn during the process. Besides, I truly thank all my group members for doing their jobs well. Without their helps, I could not have finished the work by myself. They are excellent and kind! Working together in a group is so important. Moreover, there is a diiference from the E-zine work-- we have to make a film this time. Making a film was interesting, but the maker should be careful because when I made the film, I had to notice the timing of the pictures and the sound effects, which must be specific, or the video would become strange. I also needed to find the proper soundtrack in the PSA film. It was a little hard to find since the music should be so serious that can warn people not to litter. In sum, although making the layouts and the film is a tiring work, I still love it and enjoy it. Every time I did the work, I could forget worries of lives and other assignments. In the end, I want to thank our teacher for giving me such a good chance to let me show my skills, and I promise that I am going to keep learning design. Both the works and learning must be useful for me in the future.

print ad analysis

The print ad uses a question headline - "WHAT'S PLAYING ON YOUR MIND?"

It has a slogan "MINDFULNESS..." on the upper left side as well as a subhead "Manage your stress online with mindfulness" under the headline.

Besides, I think the print ad's visual is very attractive because it is special and the person's head is quite large.
The overall lay-out is also creative. There is a man with a different and horrible head in the ad, and the head winded around complex wires makes readers think about the meaning of the ad, especially starting to think about their life and mental health. What's more, it uses the way that gives a question and encourages readers to look for an answer under the question.

The biggest lie:

Two students were arguing when the teacher entered the room.

The teacher asked them why they were arguing.
One girl answered that they found ten dollars and decided to give it to whoever told the biggest lie.
Then, the teacher said when she had been their age, she had not even known what a lie was.
Later, the students gave the ten dollars to the teacher.

  • We usually tell a lie by accident in our life, so we need to be more careful about what we say and tell the truth.

Newscast

Good afternoon. It's 4 o'clock. I'm Jill Chou with EZ News on ICRT.

The local news:
President Ma Ying-jeou called on the Legislative Yuan to speed up the review of a services trade agreement with China

He said it would demonstrate the government's unified support for economic liberalization.

Speaking at a reception to celebrate a free trade pact signed by Taiwan and Singapore, Ma said Taiwan has begun talking about signing economic cooperation agreements with major trading partners, including China, Japan and the United States.

He added, however, that Taiwan is "lagging far behind" Singapore, which had signed six major trade agreements with its partners

He hopes the review of an agreement between Taiwan and China will begin as soon as possible to "demonstrate the support of both the Executive and the Legislative branches for the nation's policy of liberalizing its economy."

In world news:
Russia's Foreign Ministry says Syria's main Western-backed opposition group is refusing to participate in talks in Moscow.

A ministry spokesman says the Syrian National Coalition  is ``blocking and refusing to participate'' in the talks, which would focus on resolving the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Russian officials had hoped the talks would bolster prospects for a proposed peace conference the U.S. and Russia are trying to convene in Geneva.

Taiwan Weather
According to Central Weather Bureau forecasters, it'll be clear over much of Taiwan this afternoon, with lows of 23 or 24 in the north and south, 22 in the center.

Tomorrow, expect more sunny skies, though their may be some clouds in the south. Highs then will peak at 30 or 31 north and south, 29 midisland.

Right now, it's

26 in Taipei

27 in Taizhong

27 in Gaoxiong

My reflection:
After the work of making an e-zine, I really learned a lot. First, with the team work, I realized that both communicating and expressing my idea in a team are very important and useful. Whether my idea is good or not, other team members would give me advice and support. Second, my job is to edit the whole lay-out. When we distributed the jobs to everyone, I volunteered to do the part of art. Because I have loved to paint and been passionate at design, I used the skills of using Photoshop before. I was happy that I could use the skills I have learned to do this work though it had to take me much time to finish the whole e-zine. Besides, I also learned something new this time, which made me know that there are still so many things I need to learn. For example, I searched some information about editing an article in magazines. Third, before the work in this course, I have liked to read magazines about food, fashion, and travelling of any countries. I truly thank for our teacher to give us a chance to make an e-zine by ourselves in the mass media class instead of just reading magazines forever. Finally, I also to appreciate my team members who did their own duty well and helped me a lot. They are great and thoughtful! I love this work and the course very much. When I made the e-zine, I did not feel tired or bored at all; on the contrary, I enjoyed it because it not only let me learn more but also inspired my creativity as well as the ability. I hope in the future, there will be more interesting homework like e-zine in other courses.

My Inspiring Trip (Revised)

 The former landmark in Tokyo

Last summer, my father decided to take a trip to Tokyo with the whole family. When I heard of the news, I was so excited that I could not sleep all night before the trip. Going to Japan had been my dream for a long time. It was also my first time to travel abroad as well as an inspiration for me.

During the flight to Tokyo, I could not help keep looking at the beautiful scenery outside the window until we arrived at the airport. The airport was totally different from what I had thought. It was large and modern. Then, we went to the hotel by bus. On the way to the hotel, I was shocked by their neatness. The roads were quite neat and flat, and the drivers had such a good manner. Suddenly, a tower with red and white color caught my attention. It was Tokyo Tower, the former landmark of Tokyo. That moment, I immediately used my camera to take a picture. It seemed that the view was unreal because I had just seen it on the TV dramas in the past. I had never been so close to the famous tower in my mind. It was amazing!

Later, we took the train to visit many tourist spots, ate delicious food, and strolled around the city. I noticed that the Japanese were super polite. No matter where we were, everyone was quiet even in the store like Café or McDonald. They also stood in a straight line, waiting for the order patiently. The clerks would bow with smile after you left the shops. The cars would stop while there was a crossroad. Everything in Tokyo looked unbelievably but admiring. Most interestingly, Japanese people are creative since I saw several cute and appealing signs on the streets. They truly care about each other and their country with their behaviors and infrastructures.

Those days, Japanese culture and spirit inspired me a lot. I try to learn their positive attributes and want to go to Tokyo once more, but, instead of taking a trip, I desire to study or work there. Thus, now I regard Tokyo Tower as my target, working hard in my life. I hope that I will fulfill my goal one day and see the tower again.

Kindergarten Lose Money

Last night, about 11-12 pm, a private kindergarten in Ipswich, Suffolk, was broken into by someone. The walls seem to be destroyed with tools, but it is fortunate that nobody got hurt. The spokesperson of the kindergarten said, "We were so shocked that we were targeted when we are a just a nursery.” Later, the police found that a safe containing  £ 1,200 in the nursery’s wheelie bin was lost. Everyone doubts it was done by a thief. The staff in the kindergarten were worried because the money is so important to them. In order to keep the public security and take back the money soon, the police promised, “We are doing all we can to arrest the thief.”
